CONSUL GENERAL B. MUNKHBAATAR MEETS WITH PROFESSOR LARRY DIAMOND AT STANFORD UNIVERSITY
Consul General B. Munkhbaatar held a meeting with Professor Larry Diamond of the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where they exchanged views on democracy and its core values, among other important topics. As a senior scholar and frequent visitor to Mongolia, Professor Diamond shared valuable insights and observations based on his longstanding experience with the country.
Professor Larry Diamond is a globally respected scholar and researcher in the fields of democracy studies, democratic governance, and political science. He serves as a Senior Fellow at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies, where he is affiliated with the Center on Democracy, Development and the Rule of Law. He is also a leading scholar at the Hoover Institution. In addition to his academic roles, he advises international policymakers, non-governmental organizations, and global democracy initiatives.
One of his notable works is the book "Ill Winds: Saving Democracy from Russian Rage, Chinese Ambition, and American Complacency", which explores the challenges to freedom and the risks faced by democratic systems. His other influential publications include "The Spirit of Democracy", "Developing Democracy: Toward Consolidation", and "Promoting Democracy in the 1990s". These works have significantly contributed to the study of democratic consolidation, citizen participation, transparency in governance, authoritarianism, and the impact of information technology on democratic development.
