MEETING WITH MS SHENG TAO, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF OAKLAND, USA

On November 29, 2023, the Consul General of Mongolia in San Francisco, USA, B. Munkhbaatar, met with Ms. Sheng Tao, the Mayor of Oakland, USA, to discuss further cooperation.

During the meeting, Consul General B. Munkhbaatar informed the mayor about the consular duties of the Mongolian Consulate General in San Francisco and that, in recent years, the Mongolian community has increased in the Bay Area. Also, he exchanged Ulaanbaatar and Oakland city's views on reviving the activities of sister cities established in 2006 and further measures and cooperation aimed at the Mongolian community.

Mayor Sheng Tao was very interested in Mongolian art, culture, and history and expressed her support and cooperation with Mongolians who live in Oakland City. She said they were willing to cooperate further to develop relations between Ulaanbaatar and Oakland's sister cities and expand Mongolian cultural events at the Oakland Asian Community Center.
