Consul General of Mongolia in San Francisco

Erdene Saldan is the Consul General of Mongolia in San Francisco with the consular district covering 17 states such as California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Idaho, Montana, Kansas, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas.

Prior to joining the mission, Mr. Erdene Saldan worked as the Advisor to the Chairman (Speaker) of the State Great Khural (Parliament) of Mongolia.  He also served as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Indonesia in Mongolia. He had various experiences in investment consulting services for Mongolian energy and mining sectors. Meantime Mr. Erdene Saldan had served for a number of  non-governmental institutions as a member of managerial team, e.g. the Asian Buddhist Conference for Peace (ABCP)- International NGO for Buddhist studies, Ancient Karakorum Association- NGO for development of Karakorum, the ancient capital city of Mongols, Amnesty International Mongolia- a local branch of the global NGO working for human rights, Asia Super Grid Association- International Network for establishing an integrated system of renewable energy in Asia. In recognition of his merit and contribution to the development of Mongolia he was awarded the State Order of the POLAR STAR by the President of Mongolia.

He has LL.M degree in International Law from Moscow Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) with further upgrading of his qualifications at the World Trade Institute, NYC, USA and Export Akademie, Reutlingen, Germany. He speaks Mongolian, English and Russian. He is married, has one son and three daughters.
