J.ERDENEBAT PM MEETS ASSISTANT FM OF CHINA

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ J.Erdenebat, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Thursday received a del-egation led by Mr Kong Xuanyou, the Assistant Foreign Minister of China, who participated in the 3rd meeting of the Strategic Talks between their Ministries of Foreign Affairs.
The Premier underlined the above meeting widely discussed the bilateral relations and cooperation, giving an im¬petus to boosting the comprehensive strategic partnership ties.
“Last May, I visited China and par¬ticipated in the Belt and Road Summit in Beijing. During this meeting, I shared the bilateral relations and cooperation issues with Xi Jinpin, the PRC Presi¬dent; and Li Keqian, counterpart of China. These meetings contributed to deepening our comprehensive strategic partnership relations in all spheres,” Mr Erdenebat said.
“We aim to realize works agreed dur¬ing these visits and to provide our peo¬ple with profits resulted by the high-level visits,” Mr Erdenebat emphasized, and then asked the Assistant FM to support this matter.
Expressed thanks to the Premier for an audience, Mr Kong Xuanyou agreed with an importance of implementing the concurred works, and said he will con¬vey the issue to relevant officials.

UB TO COLLABORATE WITH PROGRAM IN INNOVATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Ulaan¬baatar city’s Department of Industry and Innovation (UBDII) has estab¬lished a memorandum of mutual un¬derstanding with the Investment Pro¬gram on development of ger areas in UB.
The document was signed on Friday by B.Bat-Erdene, head of the UBDII; and D.Avirmed, chair of the program. Accordingly, the parties will cooperate in developing industrial and innovation sectors as well as import substitution in¬dustrialization.
Reflected in the “Happy City” pro¬gram within the 2016-2020 Action Pro¬gram of UB Mayor, the UBDII has objec¬tives to boost innovation and industries in settlement areas, to create centers for promoting goods and services and to introduce know-how, progressive technologies, innovation products and industries and franchising.

MIND ATHLETES TO COMPETE IN ASIA MEMORY CHAMPION-SHIPS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mem¬bers of the Mongolian Intellectual Academy will participate in the 2nd Asia Memory Championships to be held on August 26-27 in Hong Kong.
The forthcoming competitions will be attended by 160 athletes from 11 countries. Led by B.Baasandorj, an international referee, the Mongolian team included 20 mind athletes such as N.Munkhshur IGM, a Junior World Champion; and N.Enkhshur IGM.
Mongolian mind athletes have col¬lected 612 medals so far in 43 compe¬titions took place in the USA, Sweden, Great Britain, China, India, Taiwan, Tur¬key, Malaysia and South Korea.

MONGOLIAN CULTURAL CENTER IN NAMYANGJU TO BROADEN ACTIVITIES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Lee Seok-Woo, Mayor of South Korean Namyangju city expressed intention to expand the operations of Namy¬angju Cultural Center in Ulaanbaatar.
The visiting delegation from the Na¬myangju city headed by the Mayor met with Parliament Speaker M.Enkhbold on August 10, Thursday.
Speaker M.Enkhbold expressed pleasure at meeting the Mayor of a city that has sisterhood relationship with Ulaanbaatar, and emphasized on the importance of mutual cultural promo¬tion in strengthening bilateral ties. 2018 will mark the 20th anniversary of estab¬lishment of Sisterhood relationship be¬tween Namyangju city and the Mongo¬lian capital.
The Speaker also recalled the open¬ing of Mongolian Cultural center in Na¬myangju about 20 years ago and estab¬lishment of Namyangju Cultural Center and Namyangju Street in Ulaanbaatar, noting how these centers serve as bridges between the people of the two countries. “It is important to broaden the scope of activities at the cultural cen¬ters”, he said.
According to Mayor Lee Seok-Woo, an investment worth KRW 4-5 billion has been made into the Mongolian Cultural center in Namyangju in the last 12 years he worked as the Mayor of the city. He informed that an additional KRW 3 bil¬lion investment is planned to expand the center’s operations.
Mayor Lee Seok-Woo expressed gratitude towards the Mongolian gov¬ernment for the Order of the Polar Star medal that was bestowed upon him.

INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCES ICISCA/ FITAT APPROACHING

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Mon¬golia will organize the International Conference on Information, System and Convergence Applications (ICIS¬CA) on August 14-18.
The National University of Mongolia co-hosts the international conference with an international conference Fron¬tiers of Information Technology, Applica¬tion and Tools (FITAT) under the theme’ Challenges in Information Technology’.
The 10th FITAT is being held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of es¬tablishment of the NUM and 50th an¬niversary of training computer experts. Mongolia last hosted the conference in 2012.

“OYU TOLGOI” TRAINING OVER 50 SPECIALISTS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ “Oyu Tolgoi” LLC’s “Oyu Tolgoi” Technical Training Center is training special¬ists in three professions of mechan¬ic, welders and electricians.
The training will last for one year and is unique for introducing Australian practice in their course.
A.Urjnee, specialist at the training center, said “Most of our graduates are interested in working at “Oyu Tolgoi”. Presently, 8 professors from “Dornod Polytechnic College” are teaching at our center. The final exams will be taken by professors from Australia. The train¬ing will provide “Australian second-level competency certificate”.
Over 50 students have graduate from the training center and most of them are currently employed at “Oyu Tolgoi”.

FAREWELL CEREMONY OF MONGOLIAN TEAM PARTICIPATING IN XXIX SUMMER UNIVERSIADE HELD

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The XXIX Summer Universiade “Taipei 2017” will be taking place in Taipei, Taiwan on August 19-31.
The farewell ceremony of Mongolian team participating in the festival was held today on August 11 at Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports.
Over 12 thousand 500 athletes are participating from 162 countries in the international multi-sport event. At the farewell ceremony, Minister of Education, Health, Science and Sports G.Chuluunbaatar handed out the na¬tional flag of Mongolia to Judo athlete IM B.Sugarjargal, student at Nation¬al Physical Institute, gold, silver and bronze medalist of 2013 Summer Un¬viersiade and wished him success. The Mongolian national team includes 76 athletes and officials, and will be com¬peting in nine sports categories. Certain part of the traveling expenses, specifi¬cally MNT 59 million, is being covered by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sci¬ence and Sports and Government Im¬plementing Agency.
The farewell ceremony was attended by Assessor of Asian University Sports Federation and First Deputy Chairman of Mongolian Student Sports Federa¬tion Ph.D D.Jargalsaikhan and Rector of Mongolian University of Life Sciences and Secretary of MSSF T.Kheruuge, as well as other officials.
On the side note, Mongolian athletes have won a total of 50 medals, specifi¬cally 11 gold, 14 silver and 25 bronze medals from 7 categories of Universi¬ade in the past 52 years.
